Smt. G. A. LALANI EDUCATION TRUST has established the esteemed Institution, MATRUCHHAYA COLLEGE OF COMMERCE & SCIENCE in 1993 with the aim of promoting higher education in Dahisar and its adjoining rural area. Our Junior college is affiliated to Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
In addition to Jr. college, we also established MATRUCHHAYA DEGREE COLLEGE OF COMMERCE in the year 2004 affiliated to the University of Mumbai. It is the only College for women in suburbs and offers education in Commerce. The College provides educational facilities to more than 3 thousand Students each year with the help, co-operation & Inspiring involvement of teaching and non-teaching staff. The College is located in a beautiful pollution free zone, I km from Dahisar Railway Station.
Our Mandate of the Trust is to develop the College to a leading Centre of Education in its entire region. The College has built up an educational complex with ventilated class room equipped with speaker system, fully equipped science laboratories, Teacher’s room, spacious & well ventilated library consisting of about 9747 books, Magazines & journals, well planned Computer Laboratories consisting of Computers with latest configuration, Internet and other multimedia facilities, Digital Class rooms, Common room for girls, Gymkhana and Canteen.
A well maintained playground helps our students in acquiring new heights in the field of sports. The college thus aims at achieving great excellence in curricular as well as co. curricular activities. It caters to the educational needs of varied sections of the society, especially the underprivileged. The college is like a bridge which takes the students from ignorance to knowledge.
OBJECTIVES OE IHE TRUST
The objectives for which the Trust has been established are as under

- to prepare students for employment in specific career fields.
- to make the best education available to all without any distinction of caste,
creed and class
- to promote & impart all kind of holistic education and assist in developing
Education Institutions in rural areas or at other place the trust may decide
from time to time.
- to do all relevant acts & things necessary for the promotion of all kinds of
education either alone or in conjunction with any other person or institutions.
- to encourage students to accomplish the importance & reaching personal and
professional goals through self motivation, individual growth and the per suit
of excellence.

Parents Meeting will be held in July to appraise the parents regarding
discipline, performance, rules and regulation. co-curricular and
extra-curricular activities conducted by the college. It is essential that at
least one of the parents attend the meeting and participate in the development
of their ward and the institution. |

TUTORIALS :
|
Tutorials for all classes are held to supplement lectures. The purposes is to
foster reference - reading and independent thinking in students. The tutorials
held in small batches. Attendance at tutorials and examinations is compulsory
and the performance in these will be taken into account while confirming the
admission of a student to the University I College Examination.

COLLEGE RULES & RUGULATIONS |
|
|
|
|
|
- Every student shall obtain her identity card on admission. The student shall
always carry the I-Card with her photograph afixed there on and attested, and
shall be required toproduce when demanded by the authorities. No student will be
allowed to attend classes, tutorials, etc. unless she has attested identity card
on person. The procedure for obtaining the duplicate identity Card will be put
up on the notice-board. In case of misplacement of ID Card.
- Student's minimum 75% attendance is compulsory in each subject separately, for
each semester in the academic year. In failing to do so, she will not be
permitted to attend examination.
- Parents must note that 75% attendance is compulsory as per University Rules.
- On evety month's 4th Saturday, Parents are permitted to meet college authorities
to know their daughters performance.
- A student has to meet the minimum attendance as per University rules to keep a
term. Also, students are wamed that in case of default in attendance, their
names will not be kept on the college rolls with effect from the beginning of
the Second Term of the academic year.
- In case of illness, a student shall apply for leave by Post/Courier as soon as
possible with doctor's certificate attached there to shall report to the
Principal immediately on resuming the class.
- In case the student remains absent even for a lecture, she is required to submit
a leave note duly signed by the parents and report the same to the
Class-ln-Charges / Principal immediately on resuming the college.
- For every Commerce student, the term shall not be deemed as kept and shall not
be granted unless the student produces at the end of the term a certificate each
from the head of the respective Department, certifying that the student has
completed the prescribed Tutorial Course.
- Student shall not attend classes other then their own class without the
permission of the Principal.
- No student shall cause disturbance in the premises of college.
- Student shall not loiter in the college premises while the classes are at work.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited in the college premises. Any student found
smoking, will be strictly punished.
- No Union or Association shall be formed in the college and no person will be
invited to address a meeting without Principal's prior permission.
- No student shall collect any money as contribution for picnic, trip, educational
visit to any place, get-together, study notes, charity or any other activity
without the sanction of the Principal.
- College debates and other meetings, will be chaired by a responsible person
approved by the Principal and the subjects ofthe debate shall have prior
approval ofthe Principal.
- No student shall communicate any information or write any matter conceming the
college administration to the press.
- Students are expected to come decently dressed
- No chewing gum anywhere in the college premises.
- All garbage / waste must be thrown in the dustbins.
- Students are expected to take proper care of the college property and to help in
keeping the college premises neat and tidy. To damage the college properties
i.e. walls, doors, fitting and fumiture etc. is a breach of discipline and
strict action shall be taken for the same. The damage will have to be
compensated for, by the students.
- Students should not leave behind their books, valuables and other belongings in
their Class-room / Gymkhana room / Ladies common room, etc. The college is not
responsible for loss of any such articles.
- Students joining the college are required to observe all the rules and
regulations of the College and undertake to submit to the normal enforcement of
the same to the satisfaction ofthe Principal whose decision in this regard shall
be final.
- Vehicles (two-wheeler or four wheeler) brought by the student will be parked at
the owner's risk, in the space provided for the purpose. The College is not
responsible for any damage orthen of the same.
- Use of Cell Phone / Mobile in the college corridors, classrooms & the Library is
strictly prohibited.
- Any form of ragging is strictly prohibited in the college campus. The students
involved in ragging are liable to face strict disciplinary action. Ragging is a
punishable offence as per the Supreme Court ruling.
- Any lost property found by the students, should be handed overto the peon.
- Matters not covered in the prescribed rules shall rest with absolute discretion
of the Principal. Any other instruction issued from time to time by the college
authorities must be followed.
- Students should not use foul or abusive language in the college premises
